Called the Lurie Garden, and having a shoulder hedge in reference to Carl Sandburg's description of Chicago, in one of his most famous poems; this work will add a new touch to Chicago. An international design competition was conducted for this part of the park and the winning design was submitted by a team at Gustafson Guthrie Nichol Ltd, landscape architects. GGN was responsible for the landscape design, in collaboration with Piet Oudolf (perennial plants) and Robert Israel (conceptual review). | |
